PETA Investigator Accuses Butterball Workers of Sexually Abusing Turkeys Before Slaughter
In a shocking report released by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) , an undercover investigator claims to have witnessed Butterball employees sexually abusing turkeys at a slaughterhouse in Arkansas. The investigator, who worked undercover at the plant from April to July 2006, alleges that workers were seen inserting objects into the birds' rectums and vaginas, and even engaging in intercourse with them. The report details numerous incidents of cruelty, including workers slamming birds against walls, kicking them, and throwing them. One worker was even seen crushing a live turkey's head under his shoe until the bird's skull exploded. PETA is calling on consumers to boycott Butterball products and is urging the company to take immediate action to address the abuse. Butterball has yet to respond to the allegations.
